The Rotation of the Elements: from Empedocles to Aang, the last Air bender

The ancient Greeks considered the elements, Fire, Air, Water and Earth as the building blocks of all matter. This talk focuses in the nature of the elements in terms of their primary qualities and the relationships between them in order to understand how one element transforms into another one, an alchemical process known as the “rotation of the elements”.

Maria Benavides, speaker, obtained a Ph.D. in Theoretical Quantum Chemistry from Arizona State University and she is currently an associate professor at a Houston university. Her interest in Astrology has led her, among other things, to explore the nature of the elements. She is certified as a Talented Astrologer by the Real Astrology Academy headed by renowned astrologer, Kevin Burk. She holds a Level 1 certificate from the National Council for Geocosmic Research (NCGR) and she is pursuing the Level 2 certification at this time.
